Who We Are‎ > ‎

Our Worship

Worship is an essential part of our life together at First Presbyterian Church.  In an effort to provide meaningful opportunities for worship to people who have different schedules and who experience God in different ways, we offer two services each week during the church's program year (September through June).

Sunday mornings at 10:00am (9:30am during summer months) is our traditional worship service.  The service lasts about one hour and includes communal prayers, the singing of hymns, choir anthems, the reading of scripture, and preaching.  When we celebrate the sacraments (The Lord's Supper and Baptism) it is during this service.  Following this service we have a time for fellowship and light refreshments.

Wednesday evenings at 7:00pm is our Taizé worship service.  This is a service that is completely different from our Sunday morning worship.  It lasts about 30 minutes and is held in our church house (9 River St., Hudson Falls, NY).  It is a style of worship that comes out of the ecumenical community in Taizé, France.  Taizé worship is contemplative in nature, and seeks to bring about a state of contemplative prayer through the singing of simple songs, the reading of scripture, and times of silence.

Whichever service you choose to attend, you will find a warm welcome at both, and, we hope, a meaningful time for you to worship God in community with us.
